WESTFIELD — A former school bus driver recently pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and battery, concluding a case involving a then-10-year-old boy who had allegedly been acting out while the bus was in motion.
The incident occurred Oct. 4, 2022, after the bus had arrived at Westfield Intermediate School.
Westfield Police Officer Bryan Turgeon reported, in a court document, that the driver, Michael Kraas, 79, of 196 Valley Brook Road, Feeding Hills, “confronted the 10-year-old victim in the back of the bus regarding him throwing a football while the bus was in transport.”
