Westfield planners OK self-storage on Lockhouse Rd., delay vote on Norton St.

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Planning Board voted July 16 to approve the site plan and stormwater permit required for JML Storage to expand its Lockhouse Road self-storage facility.

Rob Levesque of R. Levesque Associates, representing applicant Matt Rokosz, presented a site plan that addressed the concerns from the board’s May 21 hearing. It moves all storage containers to the front of the property, including two already-rented ones that don’t meet setback requirements. The board said Rokosz would need a special permit to keep the containers where they are. Rokosz said he will give the renters the option to move their items to a new container, then to move back into the old one once it’s relocated to the front of the property.
