Westfield man accused of raping, punching women at home while girlfriend was out

WESTFIELD — A 30-year-old Westfield man is being held in jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail after he was arraigned last week on a laundry list of mostly sexual offenses in district court.

Thomas Caves of 69 Court St., Apt. A3, was arraigned for three charges of indecent assault and battery and single charges of rape, indecent exposure, assault and battery, threatening to commit a crime (murder) and assault and battery with serious bodily injury July 5 before Judge Charle Groce in Westfield District Court. The charges stem from a May 18 incident which was reported to Westfield Police Detective Andrew Cekovsky.

In a court document, Cekovsky reports that between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. two women had been in the Westfield apartment where Caves was living with his girlfriend.
