WESTFIELD — City Councilor Kristen Mello noted that her motion to officially designate June as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month at the council’s May 16 meeting was being voted on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Massachusetts recognizing same-sex marriage.
Like the court decision that was implemented in May 2004, this City Council vote passed, but not without opposition.
