WESTFIELD — Mayor Michael McCabe is looking to place an electronic sign in front of City Hall that will alert drivers of meetings, events, emergencies, and other pertinent city information.
Carissa Lisee, building commissioner, told the Planning Board on Tuesday that she and Purchasing Director Tammy Tefft, both representing the city of Westfield, were looking for permission to erect the sign. They previously received a height and size exemption from the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Lisee said that the mayor wants a sign that will identify the building as City Hall, rather than as “The Municipal Building.” It will also display the street address. The building currently does not display its street number for emergency responders.
