WESTFIELD — With little discussion and no public comment, the Conservation Commission unanimously approved work on the proposed Norton Street self-service facility, which would take place within the 100-foot buffer zone of two separate wetlands areas.
“The work is only within a small portion of the buffer zone. It follows all regulations,” said Conservation Director Anna Meassick.
Tuesday’s hearing followed months of continuances. Ryan Nelson of R. Levesque Associates, representing C&M Builders & Real Estate LLC, said the facility would consist of six buildings between paved drive aisles. A small portion of one of the easterly buildings would be in the 100-foot buffer zone of a wetland. Tree clearing and grading will happen on the backside of the building.
