Tiger Woods is playing in the U.S. Open for the first time since 2020. Additionally, it will be his first time playing Pinehurst in nearly two decades, as detailed by the Associated Press.
The last time Woods played this course, he finished second at the 2005 U.S. Open. However, in 2014, the course debuted some major renovations, but Woods was not playing in the tournament that year due to injury.
“This golf course is going to test every single aspect of your game, especially mentally, and just the mental discipline that it takes to play this particular golf course. It’s going to take a lot,” he said Tuesday after a third straight day of playing nine holes.
