ARLINGTON, Texas — The Red Sox had been hopeful that Chris Martin could be ready to be activated when they start their next homestand this Friday. Now, much to their delight, that timetable has been moved up.
Martin, who’s missed almost a month with right elbow inflammation, threw a bullpen at Globe Life Field Saturday. Both his stuff and his recovery were impressive enough that the plan now calls for Martin to be activated and be available to the Red Sox for the final game of the road trip Wednesday in Kansas City.
