Valley Blue Sox survive late comeback attempt from North Adams Steeplecats on Friday night

NORTH ADAMS – The Blue Sox bats were hot and active throughout this game.

The game started with a promising pitching duel. Darin Kuskie, in particular, had a strong start, pitching five innings with only one run given up off two hits and four strikeouts, setting the stage for an exciting and optimistic game.

However, in the fourth inning, the Blue Sox hitting caught fire. Out-hitting the Steeplecats in the end 11-4, Chris Jans led the way for the Blue Sox with two hits, notching one run and two RBIs.

The Blue Sox ended up winning this game 7-5. The Steeplecats threatened a comeback, scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but once again, Zachary Laird’s pitching sealed the deal for another Blue Sox win.

The Valley Blue Sox, with their impressive 2-0 record against the Danbury Westerners this season, are poised to extend their win streak on Saturday night, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The team’s confidence and assurance in their potential for another win is palpable, and the audience can look forward to an exciting game at Rogers Park, with the option to stream it on the NECBL Network.
