For a guy who hadn’t been in a fight in two years, Bruins forward Cole Koepke acquitted himself pretty well.
Not only did Cole Koepke not have a fight penalty this season. He only had six minor penalties all year.
But Bruins vs. Canadiens brings out the best or perhaps worst in players.
After Koepke laid a strong hit on Kaiden Guhle in the right wing corner, the Canadian defenseman wanted to fight. Guhle, who had one earlier fight this season, landed two straight right hands early, but once Koepke got himself steadied, he got the better of the scrap getting several good shots in before finishing on top.
According to HockeyFights.com, Koepke hasn’t been in a fight since he had two bouts as a member of the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch. The most recent was in 2023.
