The University of Massachusetts is working to create a new space in the center of Amherst in an effort to build more community engagement and campus experience.
The announcement was made by UMass Amherst’s Chancellor Javier Reyes during the university’s 57th Annual Community Breakfast on Aug. 27, which was hosted by UMass and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce. Reyes said the space will be called UMass Downtown and will open during the upcoming academic year at 108 North Pleasant St.
