
Two women have been indicted on charges related to an alleged “retail crime ring” that stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from stores in four Massachusetts counties, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
A Plymouth County Superior Court grand jury indicted 34-year-old Johana Margarita Luis Quispe and 28-year-old Brenda Ampudia Tocto on one count each of aggravated organized retail crime and larceny over $1,200 on Friday, the district attorney’s office said a press release. The charges are related to alleged organized retail crime involving thefts in Plymouth, Norfolk, Middlesex and Bristol counties.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office got involved in the case following a “coordinated incident” at the Ulta Beauty store at Colony Place in Plymouth on Aug. 31, 2024, the district attorney’s office said. The store’s manager reported the theft to Plymouth police, alleging that two women and a man stole 34 fragrance bottles worth over $1,400 in total.
