The full rosters won’t be announced until later, but at least two Bruins will be participating in the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off in February.
The 4 Nations Face-Off will feature Olympic-caliber rosters from the United States, Canada, Sweden and Finland. Boston captain Brad Marchand will be on the Canadian roster, while Charlie McAvoy will represent Team USA. Games will be played in Boston and Montreal.

McAvoy is likely to be joined by goalie Jeremy Swayman on the American team, while Hampus Lindholm and now-former Bruin goalie Linus Ullmark are good bets to join Sweden.
Six members of each roster were announced Friday. According to the NHL: “All 24 Players selected have either won an international gold medal, the Stanley Cup or claimed an individual NHL Award – or a combination of those achievements.”
Marchand has represented Canada with gold medals at the 2007 and 2008 World Junior Championships and had the championship-clinching goal at the World Cup of Hockey in 2016. McAvoy has won several medals in red, white and blue including bronze and gold medals at the World Junior Championship in 2016 and 2017 and had a bronze at the 2018 World Championship.
Three of the seven games in the 4 Nation Face-Off will be at TD Garden. The last two round-robin games as well as the championship game will be in Boston. The first four games will be in Montreal.
The event is a precursor to the NHL returning to the Olympics in 2026.
Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has been named Team Canada’s general manager for the 4 Nations Faceoff and an assistant G.M. for the Olympics.
