Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill have big day for Dolphins in thrilling Week 1 win vs. Chargers

To say Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill had a big game for the Dolphins on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers would be an understatement.

The speedy Hill finished the Week 1 game with 11 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns — including the eventual game-winner with under two minutes to play. Tagovailoa, meanwhile, had a monster day with 466 passing yards and three touchdowns.

It was shootout, but Miami came out on top with the 36-34 win at SoFi Stadium.

The Dolphins’ defense struggled at times, but the offense was there to pick it up and bail it out against a tough Chargers offense.

Perhaps Tagovailoa’s best pass of the game came in the fourth quarter which proved to be the game-winning drive. On a third-and-10 from the Miami 25 with 1:45 to go in the game, Tagovailoa connected with Hill on a 47-yard pass that he took to the end zone.

The two were a dynamic duo for the Dolphins and helped overtake the Chargers when they took a 34-30 lead in the fourth.

The AFC East will be a competitive division. But if Tagovailoa and Hill can continue this type of play, the Dolphins might give the other teams some stiff competition.
