Mairead O’Neil set the bar for herself and for all those who will run the course at Amherst Pellham Regional High School on Tuesday afternoon.
Though the Northampton girls cross country team was defeated by the Hurricanes by a final score of 20-42, O’Neil gave the Blue Devils a reason to celebrate as she established a new course record with a final time of 21:16 – nearly 45 seconds before the next closest competitor.
