Tom Brady was unanimously approved as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, 17 months after the two sides reached a deal. The seven-time Super Bowl champion released a statement shortly after the news came out.
“I’m incredibly humbled and excited to have been unanimously approved as an owner of the Las Vegas Raiders,” Brady posted to X, formerly known as Twitter. “Throughout my NFL career, I’ve learned that at its core, football is a game of teamwork, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellent. The Raiders franchise, and the city of Las Vegas embody these same values, and I’m honored to become part of that story.
“… I’m eager to contribute to the organization in any way I can, honoring the Raiders’ rich tradition while finding every possible opportunity to improve our offers to fans… and most important, WIN football games,” he added.

Brady is also FOX’s lead analyst and has been calling games in his first season with the network. Now that he’s officially part of an ownership group, the 47-year-old will face some restrictions while he’s on the job including:
- Not permitted to be in another team’s facility
- Not permitted to witness practice
- Not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings, either in person or virtually
- Prohibited from publicly criticizing game officials and other clubs
- Subject to the NFL’s gambling policy
- Subject to the NFL’S anti-tampering policy
Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with FOX in 2022 before he officially retired from the NFL in 2023. His first six weeks on the new job have been met with mixed reviews, and Brady might have even more difficulties with the restrictions he now must abide by.
