Thunderstorms possible on 4th of July in parts of Massachusetts

Thunderstorms might impact firework shows for parts of Massachusetts Thursday.

There is a hazardous weather outlook for the Berkshires on Thursday.

“There is a chance for thunderstorms this afternoon into the evening hours,” the National Weather Service warned.

As of Thursday morning, the chances remained slight at around 20%.

The rest of the state could see “a few isolated showers” Thursday or Friday. Western Massachusetts could also see some patchy fog late Thursday.

However, “Saturday into Saturday night will be a bit more active,” the weather service stated.

Thunderstorms on Saturday are most likely in Western and Central Massachusetts. There is a 40% chance of storms in Boston and on Cape Cod Saturday night.

Things are expected to clear up again on Sunday with it being mostly sunny and a high near 91 degrees.
