WESTFIELD – The St. Mary’s and Gateway Regional high school softball teams met in a contest Wednesday, and neither team proved to be the victor. Mother Nature won.
After both teams played through two lengthy innings with intermittent downpours drenching the players, coaches and fans alike, the game was delayed and ultimately postponed due to thunderstorms with St. Mary’s leading 7-4 in the bottom of the second inning.
