For the opening night of the 2024 Big E, the fair has announced Christian music artist Phil Wickham as its headliner at the Big E Arena performance venue — the fair’s largest stage.
Wickham, a Grammy-nominated musician, will perform on Friday, Sept. 13 starting at 7:30 p.m., according to The Big E — with concert tickets going on sale this Friday, Aug. 16 starting at 10 a.m. through the fair’s website.
Concert tickets include admission to the The Big E when they’re bought in advance of the show, the fair said.
Wickham’s 2024 album “I Believe” has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums, The Big E said in a news release announcing Wickham’s performance.
Wickham received two Grammy award nominations last year in the category of “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” for his songs “Hymn of Heaven” and “Holy Forever,” The Big E added.
The Big E noted it offers church services each Sunday of the fair, this year falling on Sept. 15, Sept. 22 and Sept. 29. All the services are free for fairgoers to attend starting at 10 a.m. in The Big Top located inside Gate 7 near Rocky’s Ace Hardware Giant Slide.
The Big E has previously announced Ludacris, Big Time Rush, Brothers Osborne, Umphrey’s McGee and Diplo as other musical headliner acts for the fair’s music lineup for 2024.
New England’s largest annual fair will return to Western Massachusetts from Friday, Sept. 13, through Sunday, Sept. 29, this year. The Big E is the seventh largest fair in North America.
