These are the most popular dog names across the U.S.

Of all the decisions pet owners have to make, one of the first is choosing a name.

While some people might choose something traditional, like Milo or Fido, others might let inspiration take over and opt for something like “Potato” — or something simpler like “Dog.”

And though the possibilities seem endless, one thing is for sure — there are a few names are far more common than others.

After researching America’s favorite dog names, The U.S. News & World Report found the top 100 most common dog names nationwide, and a handful of most popular names by state.

Bella and Luna take the crown for the top two most popular dog names, with Bella boasting the number one spot across 37 states.

Luna is most popular in eight states, including Massachusetts.
