There, there, the Mass. millionaires will be alright (Editorial)

Weekend before last, a family that lives at least part of the year on Cape Cod showed the world it has enough money to celebrate a birthday in style.

Policy shouldn’t be based on anecdotes, but this soiree suggests to us that 2022′s Fair Share Amendment, also known as the millionaire’s tax, was one of the smartest ballot questions of a generation.

To mark his wife Anna’s 62nd birthday, Gregory Brown invited a hundred friends and family to a party at the Chatham Bars Inn. Elton John serenaded the couple with a rendition of his “Your Song.” Sir Elton’s performance fee was not disclosed. Tom Brady signed footballs and posed for selfies. Guests dined on halibut, Wagyu beef (one of the world’s most expensive meats) and lobster Thermidor.
