Westfield erased a nightmarish two-game slide which saw the Bombers lose to Pittsfield and Longmeadow by a combined score of 19-1 with a convincing shutout on Monday at Bullens Field.
Patrick Moore (walk, two runs, RBI) and Ryan Garvey (run, RBI) led Westfield with two hits apiece. Bombers’ Isaiah Gomez doubled, had a run scored and an RBI.
Westfield starting pitcher Anthony Roberts tossed a three-hitter over 5 1/3 innings. Roberts struck out nine batters and walked four. Nolan Wondolowski tossed 2/3 inning of scoreless relief. He struck out one and walked one.

Bombers nip Brownies
Westfield 3, Agawam 2
Westfield swept the doubles competition and received a lift from their third singles player Mirabella Prefontaine, who defeated Nawra Ahmed, 6-3, 6-1, Monday at Agawam.
Kendall O’Brien and Lia O’Brien toppled Agawam’s Victoria Papova and Addison Podworski at first singles, 6-2, 6-3; Westfield’s second doubles pair, Sania Bhujel and Lilyanna Vaddy upended Maggie Carrier and Teagan Fullam, 6-3, 6-0.
