Reckon reporter Daric L. Cottingham spoke with Kokomo City stars Dominique Silver, Liyah Mitchell, and Daniella Carter at Sundance 2023 to discuss what participating in the documentary means to them as trans women. They each share their praise of director D. Smith and the importance of Kokomo City as a bigger conversation on the experiences of Black trans women.
The documentary is a raw depiction of the lives of four Black trans sex workers as they confront the dichotomy between the Black community and themselves.
Kokomo City premieres in theaters Friday, July 28, 2023.
