WESTFIELD — More than two dozen members of area peace groups lined the entrance to Barnes Air National Guard Base to call for the closure of the facility along with all American military bases worldwide.
Called the Global Day of Action to Close Bases, Sunday’s demonstration highlighted activists’ stance that all 800 bases the U.S. operates worldwide stand as impediments to peace and reconciliation.
