SPRINGFIELD — The pyrotechnics company that has shot off Springfield’s July 4 fireworks for nearly 40 years is under investigation for operating with a lapsed permit, but the show will still go on this year.
“We don’t want to disappoint anyone,” said Judith Matt, president of Spirit of Springfield, which runs the Star Spangled Springfield July 4 celebration.
