Springfield School Committee continues to revamp school camera policy after hearings

SPRINGFIELD — The School Committee continues to modify the controversial policy that currently grants police access to live video feeds from cameras inside school buildings during an emergency.

Over the past two months, the committee has held public hearings about the policy with students, parents and residents. The feedback is now being used to update the three-year-old agreement.

“I applaud the community and our student leaders on a job well done,” Superintendent Sonia Dinnall said.
