Springfield Rescue Mission gathering clothing, toiletries for homeless

As the temperature outside continues to drop, the Springfield Rescue Mission is looking to help prepare the most vulnerable for the cold months ahead.

Through its Operation Hope Tote drive, the Rescue Mission aims to collect hygiene items — specifically toiletry essentials, socks, T-shirts, and underwear — for homeless individuals and families in Greater Springfield.

“There is a tremendous need in the Greater Springfield Community for such items. To the hungry, homeless, addicted and poor, this is life or death,” said Kevin Ramsdell, executive director and CEO of the Springfield Rescue Mission, in a statement.
