Springfield-based Bishop Talbert W. Swan II has been named the national chairperson for the voting initiative of the Christian denomination Church of God in Christ (COGIC).
The initiative, called COGIC Counts, will use a variety of means to maximize voting participation among the denomination’s congregants across the nation. Its goal is to register to vote everyone eligible in the denomination’s churches, according to a press release.
