SPRINGFIELD – Facing a nationwide spike in COVID-19 infections, the city’s Department of Health and Human Services will give free testing kits to residents this week.
The kits will be distributed starting Tuesday and will only be available to Springfield residents. People who live in other communities should check with their own health department or Board of Health, said Helen Caulton Harris, health and human services commissioner.
The kits will be handed out between 10 a.m. and noon on Wednesdays at the following locations until supplies run out: The Raymond A. Jordan Senior Center, 1476 Roosevelt Ave.; South End Community Center, 99 Marble St.; Indian Orchard Community Center at Myrtle Street Park; and the New North Citizens Council, 2455 Main St.
