SOUTHWICK — With property values rising slower after the hot housing market cooled, the town’s tax rate on commercial and residential property will go up in fiscal 2025, from $15.47 per $1,000 of a property’s value to $15.57, which is the first rate increase in three years.
“The property values didn’t go up as much as in previous years,” Chief Administrative Officer Nicole Parker said about the 2.4% rate increase.
With that rate, most taxpayers in town should only see a slight increase in their bills, which will be sent out in the next few weeks, said Cindy DeMay, a senior clerk in the assessors office.
