Southwick panel to implement Master Plan gains final member, clarity on role

SOUTHWICK — Six months after the Planning Board formally approved the town’s Master Plan, the implementation committee that will work to carry out the recommendations is one step closer to having its role defined.

“This is encompassing not only what we’re asking them to do but how we’re asking them to do it, and the limits of what we’re asking them to do … to give them a little guidance,” said Planning Board member Jessica Thornton who detailed the committee’s responsibilities in a draft presented at the Select Board’s meeting on Monday.

Select Board member Diane Gale also drafted a set of recommendations for the committee, and the two were combined to create a document that must still be approved by the Select Board.
