LOWELL — Malden Catholic’s boys basketball team entered the 2025 MIAA Basketball State Tournament as the No. 1 seed in Division II, poised to secure their fourth consecutive state title. But for Somerset Berkley, that was just a number on paper.
The Raiders, seeded No. 6, played with a fire and determination that turned heads on Sunday afternoon at Tsongas Center. Against the three-time defending champions, they were unstoppable on both ends of the court, outpacing their opponents in a stunning 65-44 victory.
