Snake stolen from Massachusetts Petco as women distract workers, police claim

A snake was stolen from its habitat at Petco by a man, while two women distracted Petco employees on Tuesday, Westford Police Department claim.

The snake was a Colombian Red Tailed Boa at the Petco located at 11 Cornerstone Square. It can live up to 40 years under human care and can grow up to 9 feet long, according to the Racine Zoological Society.

Around 12 p.m. on Tuesday, a man removed the snake from one of the habitats on display, according to police. Police believe he was working with two other women who were “actively distracting” the Petco employees while the took the snake.

Police are looking to identify the three people and shared photos of the man and two women.
