Should Southwick school district strengthen its anti-bullying policies?

SOUTHWICK — An alleged mock slave auction involving Southwick high school students earlier this month begs the question about where the district’s anti-bullying protocols go from here.

This week, Jennifer Willard, the superintendent of the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District, announced that the district had completed a four-day inquiry into a complaint that a Black female student made about being the target of ongoing racial bullying.

The student claims her peers repeatedly called her the N-word and made comments regarding her appearance, leading up to the alleged cyber-bullying incident, which occurred on the social media app Snapchat off campus and outside of school time.
