Should I text my ex or is it just the retrograde?

Are we alone in feeling like there’s one big looming emotional cloud hanging over us this week?

There’s big celebrity relationship news happening all over the place, for sure, but the Honey girls are also feeling all sorts of ways about the relationships in our own lives right now. Friendships, situation-ships, partnerships; all of the ships are weathering a storm and we’re just trying to come out on the other end with a little more empathy, patience and understanding of ourselves and the people we surround ourselves with.

It turns out we may be able to look to the stars for some answers, big questions and steps forward, so let’s dive in.

The Breakdown

TLDR:

The stars are making us all emotional and ready to face the truth.

Here’s The Thing:

The week before last, the Honey Team left our call thinking about the question, “is settling in relationships an inevitable part of our lives?”

We came back to that spiral this week as we are all reeling with the effects of the current Venus Retrograde, Cancer New Moon and the Nodes shifting. If you are new to astrology then no worries, I’ll break it down: anytime you hear the word “retrograde” it just means a planet is moving in the opposite direction, and that shift can impact many different parts of your astrological chart. These retrogrades are known to be times when difficulty and chaos can seem to be everywhere, but the lessons are abundant. Retrogrades also help us return to ourselves and tap back into what values we want in our lives.

If you thought a group of women on the internet aren’t obsessed with astrology, then you are reading the wrong newsletter baby…

The stars are not an excuse but a soft guide to help us better understand what our emotional growth is asking of us. This week’s moment of truth and awareness reminds me of the work of Black Feminist scholar Toni Cade Bambara, who asks in her text Savoring the Salt, “What are we pretending to not know today?”. This line that brings up thought and truth-telling is showing up for me in what partnership and friendship look like. With many public celebrity relationships ending and a lot of arguments happening on the timeline there feels like no better time to get your conflict skills up to par for moments of deeper connection.

The Takeaway:

This week of pivotal astrology is your opportunity to ask yourself Bambara’s question and see if you are ready and willing to answer because we know we are. Thankfully, some online professional astrologers can guide you through what this week might entail for you — dig into their work below!
