Several children removed after Massachusetts apartment was ‘uninhabitable,’ police say

Several children were removed from a Holyoke apartment on Oct. 11 after officials said they were living in “horrific living conditions.”

The Holyoke Police Department said it was executing a search warrant at 149 Essex St. related to narcotics when they found the children and the living conditions.

“Due to these conditions the board of health was summoned to the apartment which they immediately deemed uninhabitable,” police said, adding that the Department of Children and Families were called and the children were removed.

Israel Jimenez was arrested and charged with possession of class B, parole warrant and three counts of reckless endangerment of a child.

Jeidy Cruz-Carrasquillo was arrested and charged with possession class B and three counts of reckless endangerment of a child.
