Serial Boston bank robber who escaped prison sentenced after robbing another bank

A 55-year-old man who robbed a bank after escaping detention for previous bank robbery convictions was sentenced to more than a decade in prison Wednesday.

Kim Daley, of Boston, was sentenced to 125 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He also received a five-year concurrent sentence for escaping custody. Daley pleaded guilty to one count each of bank robbery and escape from custody last April.

In July 2017, Daley was sentenced to 100 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for a trio of 2016 bank robberies. In May 2022, while Daley was serving the remainder of his prison time at a Boston Residential Reentry Center, where he was confined at the direction of the Attorney General, he left the center with his belongs without permission and never returned.

Daley was classified as an escape on May 9, 2022.

A little over a month later, on June 20, 2022, Daley walked into a TD Bank in Cambridge, where he passed a note to a teller demanding money and stole $560. Surveillance captured him entering the bank, passing the note and leaving a short time later with the cash.

He was arrested within about 40 minutes of the robbery.
