In less than one week, two Massachusetts lottery players each won $1 million from the new Celtics scratch ticket game.
Nancy Hurley-Shannon, of Holbrook, is the third $1 million winner from the “Celtics Banner 18″ scratch ticket game released on Nov. 19, 2024.
Hurley-Shannon claimed her prize on Jan. 8, just five days after another lottery player claimed the second $1 million prize in the game on Jan. 3.
Hurley-Shannon chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000. She told the lottery she wants to use the money for her home and retirement.
The Holbrook woman bought her winning ticket at Convenience Mart, located at 779 S Franklin St. in her hometown. The shop will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Non-winning “Celtics Banner 18″ scratch tickets can be entered into second chance drawings for the chance to win a variety of Celtics experiences and merchandise prizes, including the opportunity to participate in another chance to win $1 million at a home game.
