State and local police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 72-year-old man from Western Massachusetts who may suffer from memory loss.
Henry “Hank” Appleton was last seen at the Courtyard Marriott in Hadley around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, Massachusetts State Police report. Police said Appleton was about to take a cab to Northampton before walking away from the hotel.
However, Appleton’s family confirms that he was last seen in the Amherst College area, where police said he was spotted around 4:30 p.m. that same day. Appleton is said to not have a phone with him and is believed to still be on foot, according to police.
Appleton is described as a White man, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 190 pounds, according to police. He was last seen wearing a navy-blue shirt with white flower outlines and a tear on one side, dark shorts and hiking shoes.
