Some school districts in Massachusetts are asking parents for a little patience and a little more time to get roads cleared and safe to drive students to school Wednesday, with several announcing a delayed start after snow and sleet fell Monday into Tuesday.
“Our hardworking road crews in our district towns are hoping for a delayed start tomorrow to ensure roads are clear from the snowfall today,” Gateway Regional School District in Huntington posted to its Facebook page Tuesday night, announcing a two-hour delay. “Thank you for your patience and understanding with all of these unexpected interruptions! Please travel safely!”
The National Weather Service predicts no precipitation Wednesday, but it will be cold, with a high temperature near 28 and expect “any standing water/slush to freeze solid overnight,” the service’s website said. It will also be “blustery,” with a west wind at 14 to 16 mph, and gusts as high as 28 mph.

Academy of Notre Dame Tyngsboro — Closed Wednesday due to a heating issue but sending out assignments from teachers via email.
Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School — Two-hour delay Wednesday. School will open at 9:30 a.m., first period at 9:55 a.m. Buses will run two hours later than normal.
Andover Public Schools — Two-hour delay Wednesday.
Andover School of Montessori — Two-hour delay Wednesday. Half-day morning Children’s House is cancelled.
Assabet Valley Regional Technical High — Two-hour delay Wednesday for the school in Marlborough.

Blue Hills Regional Technical School — Two-hour delay Wednesday for the school in Canton.
Brockton Public Schools — Two-hour delay Wednesday for students, one hour delay for teachers.
Community Christian School — Closed Wednesday but home assignments will be given.

Easthampton Public Schools — Two-hour delay Wednesday.

Fitchburg Public Schools — Two-hour delay Wednesday. Morning pre-kindergarten is cancelled.

Haverhill Public Schools — Two-hour delay Wednesday, no morning preschool.
Hillside School — Two-hour delay Wednesday for the school in Marlborough. First period starts at 10:30 a.m.
Landmark School — Two-hour delay Wednesday. School will begin at 9:30 a.m. with period 3. It will also be a free dress day.

Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School — Two-hour delay Wednesday for the school in Fitchburg.
NEARI School — Two-hour delay Wednesday for the school in Easthampton.
Northampton Public Schools — Two-hour delay Wednesday. Morning preschool and kindergarten are cancelled.
Northern Essex Community College — Will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The Pinecroft School — Opening is delayed Wednesday for the school in Rehoboth, with doors opening at 9:30 a.m.
Pioneer Valley Christian Academy — Two-hour delay Wednesday. School will begin at 9:45 a.m.
Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School — Two-hour delay Wednesday for the school in South Hadley. School will begin at 10:30 a.m. Do not arrive before 9:50 a.m.

Willie Ross School for the Deaf — Two-hour delay Wednesday for the school in Longmeadow, including the office, audiology clinic, which all open at 9 a.m.
