Tom Brady’s induction to the New England Patriots Hall of Fame is fast approaching, and he’s expected to draw quite the crowd to Gillette Stadium.
There will be plenty of fans in attendance — the celebration that will take place inside the stadium is sold out — but there will also be a slew of former teammates on hand as the former New England quarterback gets honored with a ceremony celebrating his 20-year career with the Patriots.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, “hundreds” of Brady’s former teammates are expected to attend the June 12 ceremony. Damien Woody, who played four seasons with Brady, will be one of them. Details of the ceremony and just how Brady will be honored are mostly unknown. NBC’ Mike Tirico will host the event that “will feature many former teammates and special guests.”
Brady was honored by the Patriots in Week 1 of the 2023 season. He rang the ball atop the new lighthouse and he addressed the crowd at halftime wearing his No. 12 Patriots jersey. He also ran down the sideline before shouting “Let’s go!” like he did prior to every home game while he was with the Patriots.
It was during Week 1 when team owner Robert Kraft announced they’d waive the four-year waiting period for enshrine Brady a year after he retired from the NFL.
Brady left the Patriots in March 2020 and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He immediately went on to win a Super Bowl — his seventh — and played two more seasons in Florida before calling it quits after 23 seasons.
The 46-year-old holds many Patriots records and helped lead them two six Super Bowls across two different dynasties in two decades. The former quarterback is also the most accomplished player in NFL history.
Brady’s ceremony begins at 7 p.m. EST on June 12.
