Report: Former Super Bowl-winning Patriot visiting AFC team for second time

The Ravens are banged up at linebacker and are bringing in a familiar face to Patriots fans.

Kyle Van Noy is set to visit Baltimore on Tuesday, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported. It will be the second visit the two-time Super Bowl champion will have with the Ravens. His first visit came in July, but he left without a deal.

The Ravens are awfully thin at the linebacker position. Tyus Bowser (knee) has been on the non-football injury list since training camp started, while Odafe Oweh, (ankle) in Baltimore’s Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. David Ojabo left the loss after just four snaps with an ankle injury of his own.

Van Noy spent last season with the Los Angeles Chargers and continued to be productive and reliable and his position. In 13 games in 2022, the 32-year-old amassed 46 tackles, five sacks, three passes defensed and nine quarterback hits.

After a three-year stint with the Detroit Lions, Van Noy spent five seasons in two different stints with the Patriots. He won two Super Bowls with the team and made himself known in pass coverage during his time there with 19 passes defended, seven forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.

The Ravens, who are 2-1 on the season, would certainly benefit from adding Van Noy to their roster — especially if any of the injuries prove to be long-term.
