LOS ANGELES — On Sunday afternoon, Kutter Crawford did not love L.A.
Crawford, who entered his start against the Dodgers with a 0.45 ERA (1 earned run in 20 innings) in three July starts, was hit early and often at Dodger Stadium, allowing a career-high five home runs in a 9-6 Red Sox loss. It was just the 10th time in Red Sox history — and the third time since 2012 — a starter allowed a handful of homers in a single outing and continued an alarming trend of long-ball trouble for Crawford, who has now allowed 19 homers in 20 starts, putting him tied for fourth in all of baseball.
