Red Sox playoff tracker: Tuesday was not a good day for Boston’s odds

BOSTON — The Red Sox (73-72) lost a game in the AL Wild Card standings after a 5-3 loss to the Orioles here at Fenway Park on Tuesday.

They are four games behind the Twins for the final Wild Card spot with just 17 games remaining. They have just a 6.1% chance of making the playoffs, according to Fangraphs.

Minnesota ended its four-game losing streak with a 10-5 win over the Angels.

The Tigers, meanwhile, pulled ahead of Boston in the standings. They won 11-0 over the Rockies and sit three games behind Minnesota and one game ahead of the Red Sox.

The Mariners lost 7-3 to San Diego. They are tied with the Red Sox in the standings.
