BOSTON — The Red Sox didn’t escape a dramatic, extra-innings win over the Mariners without an injury scare involving one of their key players.
Closer Kenley Jansen appeared to suffer a lower back injury during his ninth-inning appearance in Boston’s 3-2 walk-off win Wednesday. He didn’t come out of the game but was clearly hobbled by the end of his outing. Jansen’s status is unknown heading into a six-game road trip to Texas and Kansas City that begins Friday.
