LOS ANGELES — Tyler O’Neill hit two dramatic homers. Josh Winckowski escaped a treacherous jam with a rare, perfectly timed 1-2-3 double play. Lots of good things happened for the Red Sox on Saturday. But they ultimately ran out of arms and lost a gut-puncher for the second straight day at Dodger Stadium.
Both Kenley Jansen (ninth) and Greg Weissert (10th) blew saves as the Sox fell to the Dodgers, 7-6, in 11 innings. After ex-Sox utility man Kiké Hernández tied it twice — in the ninth with a solo homer and in the 10th with a two-out single — he scored the game-winning run as Los Angeles walked off on a Will Smith single.
