A coffee maker sold at Aldi is being recalled after it expels hot water causing burns, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Maker was recalled starting Aug. 15 after about 28,000 coffee makers were sold from July 2023 through September 2023. There have been 25 reports of the coffee maker expelling hot water from the top of the machine, including three reports of burns, CPSC said.
“The recalled coffee makers can expel hot water from the top of the machine, posing a burn hazard,” the recall states.
They are sold in gray, blue, pink, and purple. Ambiano is printed on the side of the coffee maker.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coffee makers,” the recall warned.
Consumers can return the $50 coffee maker to an Aldi store for a full cash refund. Or customers can receive a $75 Aldi electronic gift card if they do the recall online. Customers will need to register the recalled coffee maker and then follow instructions on how to cut the unplugged cord, dispose of the product, and upload photos of the coffee maker showing the model number, registration number and cut cord.
