The New England Patriots paid tribute to Randy Moss prior to their game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday afternoon when a flag featuring his name and No. 81 went down the sidelines at Gillette Stadium.
And it didn’t go unnoticed by the legendary wide receiver.
“It’s the BIG crybaby here……..Wanna thank u all for this!!LUV IS ALWAYS IN THE AIR,” Moss posted to X.
The “big crybaby” reference is from Tom Brady’s induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame when Moss received a standing ovation from the fans that had him in tears.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver went on Instagram live and revealed doctors found a cancerous mass in his bile duct — which is between his pancreas and his liver. Moss underwent a procedure to have a stent placed in his liver and then underwent a six-hour surgery.
“I am a cancer survivor. Some trying times, but we made it through. I didn’t think I would ever be in a position like this, as healthy as I thought I was,” Moss, who was wearing a hoodie that said “Team Moss,” said in the video.
After a six-day hospital stay, Moss was released, is now recovering at home and will undergo radiation and chemotherapy.
Moss, who took a leave of absence from his ESPN analyst role earlier this month, has received a lot of love from the NFL since revealing his diagnosis .
