Top brass of Amalgamated Transit Workers Union Local #448 prepared ballots on Friday for a Saturday morning strike vote of Pioneer Valley Transit Authority bus operations in Hampden County as state and local officials expressed concern about the effect of a strike on the region.
On Friday, PVTA in a statement accused the union of “refusing to meet to negotiate in good faith and avert a strike,” after the union voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to reject it’s “last best” offer from DGR Management.
