SPRINGFIELD — Merchants and residents gathered Friday, trepidation turning into hope as they watched three prominent buildings along the well-traveled Sumner Avenue sell in a bankruptcy auction after years of neglect.
The buyer of the mostly occupied properties was businessman Norman Hannoush and his family — property investors and jewelers — with a winning bid of $930,000.
